Hi all,
As shown on https://packages.debian.org/unstable/task-telugu-desktop , tasksel
tries to install the fcitx(4) input method to provide Telugu input support.
However, (with my Debian Input Method Team member hat on) the fcitx 4.x branch
is in maintenance-only mode and is not encouraged to use due to the lack of
Wayland support. I am proposing to replace these dependencies with package
fcitx5 and fcitx5-m17n to provide the equivalent functionality by fcitx 5.x.
Before such replacement actually happens, I am looking for Debian Telugu users
and developers to actually test fcitx5 support for Telugu input on Debian
Testing/Unstable, and please let me know if anything unexpected will happen
if fcitx5 becomes the default input method provider for Debian 13 installation.

P.S. I noticed this issue when examining the default package installation of
Debian's weekly-live-build images [1]. Some unexpected packages are
being installed on the built image, such as KDE systemsettings on the GNOME
Live ISO [2]. That is a different topic and will be handled separately.
