Hi,
I've got a k6-III processor.
I've tred to change pentium by k6 in DEBIAN_BUILDARCH (i've seen kernel
2.4.x compilation uses -march=k6 -mcpu=k6 flags).
It seems to be okay but, I'm not sure that code is better optimized than with
pentium (but it's less generic, that's real)
Can you say it, quickly, to me ?
I suggest to use debconf at package installation to choose processor and to
export DEBIAN_BUILDARCH at boot ( for example in .bashrc for bash) after
asking user.
