Version: 0.6b.nr-2
(1)Installed the package. Apt-get install apcd
(2)Configured the /etc/apcd.conf
(3)Loaded the daemon by running /etc/init.d/apcd start
(4)It was logging all vital signs looked good:
(5)So we tried testing it. We unplugged the power and it said "APC
Daemon: Power failure, system will go down in 24 minutes.", but then it
stopped logging to the /var/log/upsstat.log while continuing logging to
the /var/log/daemon.log. It was my understanding that after the
specified time in the apcd.conf it will automatically shutdown the
computer, maybe by switching init levels. We left it running for 30 min
and specified 25 in the configuration file and it didn't work. Here are
bits and pieces as they happened. When we plugged the power back in it
said APC Daemon: Power restored, shutdown cancelled.
So basically, it stopped logging every 30 seconds to the logfile and it
didn't shut the system down. We are running a APC Smart UPS 1500.
