I can't tell which versions fixed this bug precisely, but I am confident
the described issue is gone:
- the last comment to the bug is more than 8 years old
- there is not similar bug report on Launchpad
- anecdotal: I use a-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud a lot, and I never encounter
the described behavior
