Package: libimobiledevice-1.0-6
Version: 1.3.0+git20240701-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

today I uninstalled usbmuxd and as its dependency libimobiledevice-1.0-6
as well on my sid system as I don't have any Apple products. Afterwards
I could not login into plasma-x11 due to

/usr/bin/startplasma-x11: error while loading shared libraries:
libimobiledevice-1.0.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

in ~/.xsession-errors. The file libimobiledevice-1.0.so.6 is in both
libimobiledevice-1.0-6 and libimobiledevice6, the latter still being
installed. But there was no /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libimob* any more
so I installed libimobiledevice-1.0-6 again to remedy the login
situation.

Afterwards I found out that I was able to remove libimobiledevice-1.0-6
again, when I re-installed libimobiledevice6 afterwards.

I presume it has something to do with the

Replaces: libimobiledevice6

in the libimobiledevice-1.0-6 package so apt/dpkg don't complain about
the contents of libimobiledevice6 being removed while it's still
installed.

But I'd like to avoid the plasma-x11 login problem in the future.

Kind regards

Sebastian Bremicker
