Hi,

(People who contributed to previous bug reports of this package
shamelessly in CC for raising comments here.)

Your package was highlighted in the Bug of the Day[1] initiative, which
aims to introduce newcomers to manageable tasks and guide them through
the workflow to solve them. The focus of this initiative is on migrating
packages to Salsa, as it's a great way to familiarize newcomers with a
consistent Git-based workflow.

After inspecting the open bugs of this package I realised that I can't
really help here (except simply follow the 'set -e' suggestion raised in
bug #635020 which I agree to). So I rather think the only valuable
contribution I could do is migrating the packaging to Salsa which I
did[3]. This seems specifically helpful since none of the URLs in
d/control (Homepage, Vcs-* fields) exist any more. Thus I've set
Homepage to wayback machine and Vcs fields to Salsa. I really hope this
will enable and motivate contributors to work on this package.

I will wait for your comments before uploading the patch (I've not only
moved to Salsa but also modernised the packaging - Salsa CI is
passing[4]) the usual ITS period of 21 days. After this period I assume
agreement and will upload to delayed=10 and ping you again.

Thank you for your work on this package
    Andreas.

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

    cereal | 0.24-1.2 | source, all

------------------- Reason -------------------
RoM; rc-buggy
----------------------------------------------

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next
dinstall run at the earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed
correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [email protected].

This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is
a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing
