nmu petsc_3.22.5+dfsg1-2 . ANY . unstable . -m "rebuild against mpich
4.3.0+really4.2.1"

A broken new version of mpich 4.3.0 had been upload to unstable at the
beginning of the freeze for trixie. After some effort trying to fix
it, mpich maintainer and release managers made the decision to revert
back to 4.2.1 with mpich 4.3.0+really4.2.1-1

petsc uses validity checks to ensure it is not being used with an MPI
version older than the one it was built against. petsc 3.22.5+dfsg1-2
was built against mpich 4.3.0 while it was in unstable. It therefore
fails to work against the new old version-reverted mpich
4.3.0+really4.2.1.

Therefore please schedule petsc for binNMU to reset it against the
reverted really4.2.1 version of mpich.
