Package: gparted
Version: 0.11.0-1
Severity: serious
gparted includes 2 menu items. The desktop one quietly fails to launch
here, under KDE, even with gksu installed. This worked in 0.10.
Exec=gksu /usr/sbin/gparted
was changed to
Exec=gparted-pkexec
Executing GParted by running gparted-pkexec in a console works, but
there is interactivity due to a password request:
$ gparted-pkexec
==== AUTHENTICATING FOR com.ubuntu.pkexec.gparted ===
Authentication is required to run the GParted Partition Editor
Authenticating as: root
Password:

libparted : 2.3

chealer@vinci:~/logs$
Furthermore, the Debian menu item, which uses su-to-root, apparently
does not show.
?package(gparted):\
needs="X11"\
section="Applications/System/Administration"\
title="GNOME partition editor"\
command="su-to-root -X -c /usr/sbin/gparted"\
icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/gparted.xpm"
The workaround I would recommend is to run kdesu gparted.
