This change is included in libserial 1.0.0+git20250423-*. It breaks the upgrade
from bookworm (version 1.0.0-7) to trixie.
An ABI change should be reflected in a new SONAME of the library and the
corresponding binary package (Debian Policy 8.1)
I ask you to either revert to 1.0.0-10 in trixie or bump the SONAME to
libserial.so.2 and change the binary package name to libserial2.
