Package: qemu-user-static
Version: 1:5.2+dfsg-9
Severity: normal

Similar to #985923 Java™ is not emulated properly by qemu-user-static
for Alpha targets but this works in qemu-system-alpha.

(pbuild4932-dpo/alpha)root@evolvis-wirt:/#
/usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk-alpha/bin/java -version
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Too small maximum heap

Same for openjdk-8-jre-headless.

I can't reproduce this problem anymore with version 7.2 of qemu
(bookworm). qemu has seen a *lot* of improvements all over the
places since the reported 5.2 version, including better emulation
of opcodes which are used by java, and much better multi-threading
support.

Let's close this bug report with bookworm version of qemu.
Please feel free to reopen it if you think this is incorrect.

Thanks,

/mjt
