Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
SAVING FILES AND FOLDERS TO AN EXTERNAL DEVICE.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
VISIBILITY AT THE COMMAND LINE WAS INTERMITTENT DURING THE FIRST 24 HOURS,
AND FILES/FOLDERS WERE ALWAYS INVISIBLE DURING THE FIRST 24 HOURS.
* What was the outcome of this action?
GREATLY SLOWED DOWN MY ABILITY TO USE MY COMPUTER SINCE I HAD TO SAVE MY
FILES TO THE DESKTOP, WAIT 24 HOURS, AND THEN MOVE THEM TO THE EXTERNAL DEVICE.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
VISIBILITY SHOULD BE INSTANTANEOUS ONCE A FILE/FOLDER IS SAVED TO AN
EXTERNAL DEVICE.

There isn't anywhere near enough information in this bug report for
anybody to be able to investigate this. It's also nothing to do with
the Debian installer, nor the bugs.debian.org package.
Closing - feel free to reopen if you have more useful information,
including stuff the template asked for:
* what version of Debian
* what *exactly* you did
* what happened
* what desktop you're using (etc.)
