Package: courier-imap
Version: 5.0.13+1.0.16-3+b6
Severity: wishlist
Dear Maintainer,
as you know, Debian's courier-imap package is based on an upstream
version released in March 2021, which has been declared "obsolete" by
now, as it depends on FAM/Gamin which is no longer used as of the next
upstream release after 1.0.16. It was replaced by inotify for good
reasons.
In addition to that, the version in Debian doesn't yet support the TLS
ALPN extension -- again, it was added in the upstream release that
came after the one Debian is using.
So I would like to ask to migrate to the most recent upstream release.
The upstream developer(s) did a great job, they have integrated
building Debian packages right out of the box.
Many thanks for considering it.
Kind regards,
Ralf

Ralf,
I recently took over maintenance of the courier-imap package. I apologize
that nobody responded to your bug report in a timely manner. I am happy to
inform you that Debian now has the current version of courier-imap, so I am
closing this bug report.
