Package: iceweasel-gnome-support
Version: 3.0.9-1
Severity: important
I'm unsure if this should by reported against this package or iceweasel.
If I'm wrong, please reassign to the right package.
My gnome proxy settings are:
[x] manual proxy configuration
[x] same proxy for all protocols
proxy http: 192.168.1.53, port 3128
ignored hosts: localhost, 127.0.0.0/8, 192.168.0.0/16, myhostname
My iceweasel proxy settings are: use system proxy settings
The latest hostname is referred to 127.0.0.1, but I don't want my
browser to connect via proxy if I specify urls in the form of
http://myhostname/...
So, what happens? Everything was running like a charm until i tried to
connect to http://127.0.0.1:8000/ . With this URL, iceweasel is trying
to use the proxy, and my proxy of course raise an error since there are
no application listening to port 8000 on the proxy server. If I use
http://localhost:8000/ then the proxy is not used, and I get my django
application.
Bye,
Giuseppe

Version: 115.12.0esr-1+rm
src:iceweasel has been superseded by src:firefox-esr in version
45.0esr-1 in March 2016. Transitional packages to ease upgrades were
provided in the wheezy, jessie, stretch and buster releases. The
transitional packages have been removed finally before the bullseye
release in August 2021.
After regular security support for buster ended in August 2022 and LTS
support ended in June 2024, I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
Andreas
