Package: iceweasel
Version: 4.0~b10-1
Severity: wishlist

As you see browsing
http://www.wretch.cc/album/show.php?i=e0456789j&b=23&f=1100870989&p=7 a
poorly designed website has the power to choose to take the scrollbar
away, and the Firefox user is _powerless_ to stop them.

Nowhere in Preferences or about:config is there anyway to stop them.

One can block popup windows, but cannot stop sites taking away scroll
bars.

Doesn't this run against the Firefox goal of empowering users?

Note users can still scroll down with the keyboard down arrow key.

But don't tell anybody, lest Firefox developers catch on and then
further empower foolish sites to take that away from users too.

With that gone too then there will be no way to scroll down to see the
rest of the picture, if ones computer is shorter than the web page
designer assumed it was before throwing away the scrollbar or for spite
or whatever.

Version: 115.12.0esr-1+rm

src:iceweasel has been superseded by src:firefox-esr in version 45.0esr-1 in March 2016. Transitional packages to ease upgrades were provided in the wheezy, jessie, stretch and buster releases. The transitional packages have been removed finally before the bullseye release in August 2021. After regular security support for buster ended in August 2022 and LTS support ended in June 2024, I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
