Dear Maintainer,
When "about:home" is the default home page, the first search after
launching always goes to lunch. The timer wheel spins forever. If
another tab is opened, then that search works instantly, but only if
another search was already attempted.
I tried not searching in the first tab to appear after launch, and go
straight to a 2nd tab with about:home and search from there. But that
also hangs, at which point the first tab works. So it's not a problem
with the first tab, but rather the first /attempt/ that is made.
This is quite annoying. It started occuring a few months before
Jessie was released, and still happens after upgrading from wheezy to
jessie.

src:iceweasel has been superseded by src:firefox-esr in version
45.0esr-1 in March 2016. Transitional packages to ease upgrades were
provided in the wheezy, jessie, stretch and buster releases. The
transitional packages have been removed finally before the bullseye
release in August 2021.
After regular security support for buster ended in August 2022 and LTS
support ended in June 2024, I'm closing the remaining bug reports now.
