Package: mailsync
Version: 5.2.1-2
Severity: normal

Hello,

in /etc/c-client.cf I've "set new-folder-format mbx", so new folders are created in (the recommended) mbx format for performance reasons in uw-imapd/ipopd. If .msinfo is automatically generated in mbx format the message IDs (the same with md5) are inserted and maintained, but it seems on the next sync they are not read before sync because deleted messages in store A are copied over again from store B to A and not deleted as expected, the same with the other direction. The only way to get rid of mails is to delete them on both stores without a sync in between.

workaround: If I create an empty .msinfo mbox format is used and everything woks ok (set empty-folder-format unix).

A self compiled mailsync binary from the upstream source package and with debian libc-client-dev suffers the same problem

~/.mailsync:

store server {
       server  {server.domain.net/notls/user=test}
       ref     {server.domain.net}
       pat     INBOX
       #prefix sync/
       passwd  pass
}

store local {
       pat     INBOX
       #prefix sync/
}

channel server-local server local {
       msinfo  .msinfo
       sizelimit       10485760
}

Best regards, René
