Package: openmediavault
Version: 7.7.17-1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-Cc: [email protected]
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
- Installing openmediavault on an installation of Debian 13 trixi netinst.
- netinst options:
- SSH server
- standard system utilities
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
- Following instructions on openmediavaults site
(https://docs.openmediavault.org/en/stable/installation/on_debian.html) for
installing on Debian. Copy / Pasted the command from 'Install the
openmediavault package'.
* What was the outcome of this action?
- Missing dependencies for openmediavault on base install of Debian 13 trixi.
Solving dependencies... Error!
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
openmediavault : Depends: php-pam but it is not going to be installed
Depends: cpufrequtils but it is not installable
Depends: chrony but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
E: The following information from --solver 3.0 may provide additional context:
Unable to satisfy dependencies. Reached two conflicting decisions:
1. openmediavault:amd64=7.7.17-1 is selected for install
2. openmediavault:amd64 Depends cpufrequtils
but none of the choices are installable:
[no choices]
- Attempts to install the missing dependencies manually results in errors
saying the package 'is missing, has been obsoleted, or is only available from
other sources'.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
- The install to work without spending extra time tracking down missing
dependencies or trying to manually install them only to have that fail as well.

You've reported this bug to Debian, but it seems your problem is
with the "openmediavault" package. Please report bugs for it to
openmediavault.org. They should be able to help you.
Best,
Chris
