As announced in 
https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2025/08/msg00150.html I would like 
to try to remove libgirepository1.0-dev during the forky cycle, and I 
plan to do a mass-bug filing for this at some point.

gst-plugins-base1.0 is one of the more popular packages that still has a 
B-D on libgirepository1.0-dev, so I've prepared patches to improve its 
GObject-Introspection setup: please see 
https://salsa.debian.org/gstreamer-team/gst-plugins-base1.0/-/merge_requests/18 
(which I'll revise to include this bug number when I get it back from 
the BTS). Please consider applying those changes.
