Package: xfonts-kapl
Version: 4.18.8-1
Severity: normal
The fonts in xfonts-kapl are not ISO-8859-1 fonts; they are encoded in
their own unique encoding. Their encoding should be -fontspecific-0 or
-misc-fontspecific or something similar (also seen were
-microsoft-symbol and -adobe-fontspecific). Better yet, they should be
recoded to -iso10646-1 and all the little pieces that use them fixed to
use Unicode. That would make these fonts non-essential, as there are
several other fonts (misc-fixed fonts, for example) that include the APL
section in ISO10646-1 encoding.
