Package: libccid
Version: 1.7.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading libccid:amd64 from 1.6.2-1 to 1.7.0-1, systemd-udevd
now logs the following on boot:

    systemd-udevd[532]: /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/92-libccid.rules:12 Unknown group
'pcscd', ignoring.
    systemd-udevd[532]: /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/92-libccid.rules:16 Unknown group
'pcscd', ignoring.
    ...22 lines omitted...
    systemd-udevd[532]: /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/92-libccid.rules:62 Unknown group
'pcscd', ignoring.

I can confirm that the group pcscd does not exist on my machine. Based
on the changelog entry for 1.7.0-1 "d/rules: do not install
92_pcscd_ccid.rules file" perhaps the installation of the rules file
was unintentional (and permissions are assigned using another
mechanism)?

Thanks,
Kevin

This is expected.

The pcscd group will be created by the new version of pcsc-lite.
See https://blog.apdu.fr/posts/2025/10/new-version-of-libccid-170/

I need some free time to release and package pcsc-lite.
I wanted to do that just after the release of libccid 1.7.0 but I had other
priorities.

This bug should be fixed "soon".

This issue is fixed with pcsc-lite 2.4.0-1
