Package: gdm3
Version: 3.22.3-3+deb9u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

gdm crashes every time the PC goes to sleep while a user is logged in, locking
out every other user until I reboot.
steps to reproduce (tested on an intel broadwell laptop as well as a core-2 due
desktop with nvidia graphics running the nouveau driver):
log in user A
while user A is logged in, close laptop lid or otherwise go to suspend/sleep
wake up PC: user A is still logged in and can access his/her session on tty 2,
but gdm has crashed on tty1, i.e. one only sees the lock screen, hitting enter
briefly flickers the list of users available for login, but gdm immediately
returns to the lock screen and it is impossible to log in anyone anymore (this
also applies to user A after he logs out)
Only rebooting helps
I also tried
sudo systemctl restart gdm3
but this only works 1 out of 10 times, the other times systemd tries in vain in
an infinite loop to restart gdm freeying the system and requiring a hard reset.

Thanks,
Daniel
