Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.2.2.1-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
(first of all: I'm not sure, whether this is the right package to be blamed,
may be gdm3 or another one, too. My apologies, if I selected the wrong one)
I noticed it on another, similarily configured machine and proofed on this one.
gnome-shell (gdm3?) seems to be unable to detect your graphics settings while
you are using another TTY.
Steps to reproduce:
* Log in to your gnome-shell session
* Directly after having entered your password and pressed enter/hit OK, change
to another TTY by pressing CTRL+ALT+F[1,2,...] - while the machine is doing the
"log in work"
* Wait a few moments (or log in in the other terminal and do something), then
change back to the "gnome terminal"
* You are now logged in to your gnome session, however, it is running in
fallback graphics mode (you may get an error message about it, too)
* Log out and log in again, while staying in this terminal - you're back in
"normal mode" again
Regards,
Oliver
