Hi,

I'm closing this bug, because it is not related to the pylint package.
If you want to use pylint on a debian machine, either install the pylint
debian package, which does not exhibits this problem, or install pylint
from source in the /usr/local tree. 

In the meantime, running
# rm -rf /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pylint/test

should enable you to upgrade or install python-scientific.
