Package: whois
Severity: wishlist
Hi Marco,
when doing a local backport of whois, I noticed that the make_version.pl
needed the suffix added and I'm wondering, if
a) as you seem to indicate in the comment, this is no longer needed?
(it work for me just fine with RIPE and 'Md5.6.5~foo+u1'
as the version)
b) you could just cut anything after '~' automatically, rather than
having a list of suffixes to cut?
either one would make it easier for the local backport case.
of course, not a big deal.. but I though I'll just ask anyway.
Regards,
Daniel
