Dear Maintainer,
In a multiple monitor setup with a Radeon RX 6700 XT using Debian 13:
1. Monitor 4K via DisplayPort
2. Monitor FHD via DisplayPort and left rotated (I use it vertically)
3. TV 4K via HDMI
Every time I turn on the computer, after authenticating in GDM, the
signal of the displays is lost and after waiting a few seconds, I press
Ctrl+Alt+F1 and the authentication screen reappears, in which after
authenticating again, my previously started session appears.
Error in the boot log:
gnome-shell[3203]: Page flip failed: drmModeAtomicCommit: Invalid
argument
The only solution that has worked for me so far was to restart after
running the following commands:
sudo cp ~/.config/monitors.xml /var/lib/gdm3/.config/
sudo chown Debian-gdm:Debian-gdm /var/lib/gdm3/.config/monitors.xml
I don't know the root cause of this issue, but I'd be happy to help with
any additional information, in order to prevent such an error from
occurring to other users in a stable version of Debian.
P.S. The same error message is indicated in bug 1125941, however I have
not tried that solution, nor could I confirm that the cause is the same.

Revert an upstream change that was not intended to be backported
to 48.x. A corresponding revert has been queued for inclusion in
48.8 upstream.
The change was developed for v50, under the assumption that gdm3
changes from v50 would be present, but then mistakenly backported
to 48.x and included in the 48.7 release.
The resulting change to timings/sequencing triggered regressions in
modesetting during first login on some systems, which can result in
the Shell UI never appearing.
