Package: hdaps-utils
Version: 0.1-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

The two apps in this package are kind of just wrappers around the sysfs
interface. We're not exactly being true to the HDAPS acronym until we
have some protection too.

I was just on the ThinkWiki site <http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/HDAPS>,
where there's a link to an hdaps daemon
<http://www.zen24593.zen.co.uk/hdaps> that presumeably parks the hard
disk.

I haven't tried it out yet, nor do I know if it's the best solution.
But it's a start. What concerns me is that this code doesn't have a
formal maintainer. If it (or something like it) were included in a
Debian package, I think the application would have the kind of
developer/community relationship I'd prefer with something like this.

Regards,
Sukant Hajra

HDAPS parking daemon not stable, and depends on kernel patches that
are less stable yet!

So forget it on debian for now. Testers are welcomed.
