Package: kernel-package
Version: 10.052
Severity: normal

if the user has both lilo and grub installed and no do_bootloader line
in /etc/kernel-img.conf, he will be asked for the concrete action as
fix for #380292.

please save the result to the question not only to debconf,
but also to /etc/kernel-img.conf so that other users like
update-initramfs can use the wanted behaviour.

thanks + best regards

/etc/kernel-img.conf is a shred configuration file, and
no single image package may claim to it, and so modifying shared
configuration files with user data is not something I would like to
have in every kernel image postinst script

update-initramfs can, of course, as debconf just as easily --
I have made the question shared an not version dependent, to make the
task easier. This would also enable update-initramfs to ask the user
whether or not they want the initrd updated.
