Package: screen
Version: 3.9.5-8
Severity: wishlist

To reproduce:

* Start screen eg by typing `screen'.
* Say `ls' in the window to get something to copy.
* Say C-a [ to get into copy mode.
* Move with vi keys to a line of ls output.
* Say ^ SPACE $ SPACE to copy the line of output.
+ screen says `Copied 16 characters into buffer' or some such.
* Say C-a > to try to write it to a file.
+ The main screen process will now die with a segmentation fault.
* Try typing something at the screen. It's completely dead.

NB that this bug report is *NOT* about the crash which causes the
problem. This bug is the fact that *when* the main screen process
crashes - and presumably whenever it does so - the `client' screen
which is talking to the user's terminal becomes irretrievably locked
up. I think this is poor error behaviour and should be improved.

Ian.
