When used with emacs-snapshot, nxml-mode validation of some files
generates the error "range striding over charsets" and turns off the
validator.  See
<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/emacs-nxml-mode/message/1049?threaded=1&var=1>
for an email thread describing the problem, and
<http://drkm-lib.sourceforge.net/nxml/xsd-regexp.el.2006-01-26.patch>
for a patch solving the problem. I can confirm that the patch works as
advertised, making validation work again for some XSLT files I have that
triggered this problem.

   * Apply patch to fix "range striding over charsets" error with
     emacs-snapshot.  (Closes: #373155)
   * Apply patches to fix "startup bogosity". (Closes: #340637)
   * Note workaround for mule-ucs issues in README.Debian.
     (Closes: #341603)
   * Build-Conflict with nxml-mode; having the package installed breaks the
