Dear Maintainer,

I use geoparquet files a lot. In particular, I create them in DuckDB
using the spatial extension. However, I can't easily use the files in
tools like QGIS and GDAL since the standard GDAL package does not
include the parquet driver. Is it possible to add this in the future?
It seems possible if libarrow is present, for example.

To quote my recent mailinglist post:

"
The first beta for GDAL 3.13.0 has been released, and the SONAME bump requires
a transition.

I had initially enabled the Parquet driver now that apache-arrow is in the
archive, but it turns out to only be available on 64-bit little endian
architectures.

With GDAL being a core geospatial library I don't want architecture specific
dependencies, and recursively removing the rdeps is far too invasive.

So I've dropped the Parquet driver again.

Users who want the driver are encouraged to help get the apache-arrow package
available on all release architectures.
