Package: python3-mapnik
Version: 1:0.0~20240222-5ab32f020-5
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I'm a daily user of python3-mapnik on Debian unstable. I see that the
latest version still depends on libmapnik4.1, but this is no longer
available on testing or sid (4.2 is), and thus this package has been
removed from those releases. Is there anything I can do to help this
move forward?

That's unfortunate, because python-mapnik is gone:

Is there anything I can do to help this move forward?

Make the pybind11 build work, I managed to make it build successfully but it
would segfault on use.

python-mapnik would be served well by more active upstream developers, tagging
releases, and getting the package on PyPI.

Kind Regards,

Bas
