kendlive fails to resolve opentimelineio and fails with a undefined entry point
error. The problem is that opentimelineio built with a different version of
imath than what was delivered.

Thanks for retesting
Yes both were updated

Maintainer,
Sorry. You can close or this bug-report. I poked around and thought I
knew what was going on, but alas not so much.
Shortly after creating this report I updated my system and a new
kdenlive was installed and kdenlive launches properly now.
2026-09-01 00:02:08 upgrade libopentimelineio0:amd64
(0.18.1-1+b1, 0.18.1-2)
2026-09-01 20:49:19 upgrade kdenlive:amd64 (26.04.3-1, 26.08.0-1)
the old kdenlive was probably built with the 3-1 imath header but the
new libopentimelineio was built with the 3-2 imath header.
I have to study up on c++ templates and apt. I don't know how apt
could have figured out that the libopentimelineio shouldn't have been
updated.
Thanks
Greg
