Hi,

In the follow-up to this report, Yegor observed the same slow painting and reported that switching from the modesetting driver to the intel driver resolved it on his system. This points to a problem in the Xorg graphics stack at the time, although the cause on the original reporter's system was not confirmed.

With no further information since 2016 and no identified xdm defect in this report, I am closing it. If the problem is still reproducible with current Debian packages, please reopen the report and include the xdm and X server versions, graphics hardware, and Xorg log.

Thanks,
Boyuan
