Package: gnubiff
Version: 2.2.2-3
Severity: normal
Hi,
after an upgrade of gnubiff from version 2.2.2-2 to 2.2.2-3, it was not
able to check my IMAPs (SSL) mailboxes. The Popup window shows "Error".
On the server side, I have in the log :
Sep 1 18:23:56 monstre imapd-ssl: Connection, ip=[::ffff:192.168.0.2]
Sep 1 18:23:56 monstre imapd-ssl: LOGIN FAILED, user=antoine,
ip=[::ffff:192.168.0.2]
It seems that the password were wrong.
By entering again the password in the Preferences box, gnubiff succeded
in connecting to the server and checking the new mails.
There were maybe a change in the stored password encryption algorithm.
Antoine

Yes, I expected that. Fixing bug #378233 and adjusting to upstream's
encoding scheme (the change would occur at the next upstream release),
the algorithm changed.
Thanks for reporting. There's not much we can do about it now. Next
time, I would write about it in a NEWS file, but the changelog should
say it already.
bye,
Roland
