Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.7-1
Xmms doesn't decode id3v2 tags on flac files(but incidently, will decode
id3v1 tags on flac files - not further discussed in this email). Xmms
will partially decode id3v2 tags on mp3 files: It will read the Artist
and Song Title for the Playlist Editor, but will not display any
information when a song title is right clicked to "View File Info".
It would be nice if Xmms would at least partially decode id3v2 tags for
flac files as it does for mp3 files. Then it would be possible to see a
more informative playlist.
I've included the 'id3v2 -l' [0] of two example files to show the tags
are identical. I've also attatched a png file of the Playlist Editor to
show how the files are (mis)displayed when loaded into Xmms.

FLAC implementations (even the reference one!) are not required to
support ID3 tagging in any way, shape or form. They are pretty much
highly deprecated and in this day and age, no self respecting tagger
will tag FLACs with ID3 tags. Please use vorbis comments instead. I'm
closing this bug.. Reopen it if you still feel very strongly about this.
Thanks,
