Package: cdrecord
Version: 4:2.0+a38-1
Severity: important
Hello
I have installed Knoppix 3.7 which comes with a 2.4.27 and a 2.6.9
pre compiled kernel. With both kernels I have no problem using
xcdroast. Meanwhile I upgraded the system to sarge (with some packages
from sid I confess), save the kernel.
However when I compiled a new 2.6.10 kernel xcdroast/cdrecord can't
write any longer to the CD. (I have attached the error output below).
The main error message is:
cdrecord: No such device or address. Cannot send SCSI cmd via ioctl
I even compiled the 2.6.10 kernel with the config-2.6.9 from Knoppix,
but it did not help. In fact lsmod gives different results so I
suspect that some module is missing, but which? (I hesitate to attach
the output of lsmod.)
Thanks and regards
Uwe Brauer
