Package: console-tools
Version: 1:0.2.3dbs-44
Severity: wishlist
I had manually changed some values in /etc/console-tools/config . My
computer usually stays on for weeks (sometimes months) at a time, so I
noticed nothing unusual (regarding console-tools, anyway), until I had to
boot the machine and noticed my font settings were gone. I then realized my
/etc/console-tools/config file had been overwritten by a default one.
I can't really tell which upgrade caused this, but, regardless, if
that file could be configured by debconf, situations like that could be
avoided. In any case, my previous config file should have been backed up.
Thanks a lot,
rbp

This file is owned by console-tools and, as said by Alastair in the
bug report, is a conffile for that package.
Hence, I see absolutely no reason for console-common having ever
messed with that file. This bug is very certainly misassigned AND even
irrelevant for console-tools.
Hence closing. Please reopen if the problem happens again but I very
much doubt it.
