When I select Movie -> Play CD in totem, I expected it to try to play
the DVD in the drive chosen in Preferences/Optical Device Path. However
instead I get the following error message:
Failed to play Audio/Video Disc
Failed to find mountpoint for device /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target1/lun0/cd
in /etc/fstab
Which is correct ;) the relevant portion of my fstab is as follows:
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /media/cdrw auto ro,user,noauto
/dev/cdroms/cdrom1 /media/dvd auto ro,user,noauto
However I don't think that Totem should be trying to mount the CD/DVD
and play files _on_ it, rather it should try to play the DVD/VCD itself.
Or if "Play CD" is intended to mount and play files on the media, then I
think totem needs a separate menu item to enable it to play a DVD/VCD.
