Hi,
In July/August I have been using a (non-free) Adobe font in Gimp :
Helvetica Neue Bold Condensed. But this font is not available anymore
in Gimp. All other variants (Bold, Light, etc...) are available,
but the Condensed variant has disappeared, although it seems to be
properly loaded:

I did not change anything to my fonts setup in the meantime. I always
load them when I need, with xset fp+ <dir> and xset fp rehash.
In Gimp the "Helvetica neue" font appears twice, and clicking on one or
the other of these does the same thing.
I suppose this is not strictly related to the Gimp, because I have
neither access to this Condensed variant in Abiword, nor in the KDE
Control Center font dialog.
However, when I last worked on this project in Gimp, this summer, the
font was available.

This is obviously not a problem with gimp. Gimp, along with most other
modern apps, use fontconfig to get font information.
See /usr/share/doc/gimp/README.Debian for information about getting
fonts to work specifically with gimp.
