These images might be okay because they are not the *exact* Smiley Face 
with the oval eyes and curves around the mouth.  Googling a bit shows 
Wal-Mart now owns the copyright on that.  But I remember historically 
this has come up.  It *may* be the case that if you alter the eye or 
mouth structure it's okay.

You might be right.  Those Duracell and Bic images are pretty 
unambiguous, especially the Duracell battery since only one type of 
battery looks like that.  I'd definitely consult a lawyer.
