We have to skip a release with features if they mean that the dpkg and APT in the previous stable release cannot process packages in the new release.
Robert's patch only currently affects dpkg-dev, which doesn't have this restriction. Scott -- Have you ever, ever felt like this? Had strange things happen? Are you going round the twist?
