The problem with Downloads started occuring after a system update. New
version of Firefox didn't function entirely propely with the old settings.
Removing (renaming) ~/.mozilla did the trick. The problem was with some 1.0
version to (Debian package 1.0+dfsg.1-2) of Firefox.
