Package: alsa-base Version: 1.0.8-2 Problem: When the snd-emu10k1 module is loaded, the sound gets muted.
Some investigation: The /etc/alsa/init.d script calls the start() function with parameter "0" and exits because /proc/asound/card0 and /proc/asound/0 don't exist (/proc is mounted by the way). Adding "sleep 5" at the beginning of the start() function makes it work. Further details: The sound card is a Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 03).
