As was pointed out, Nigel Cunningham (cc'd) is the upstream author of the kernel Software Suspend 2 patches - I merely maintain the website. Additionally, Cameron Patrick (also Cc'd) is the maintainer of the hibernate package (in Debian) used for controlling Software Suspend 2 (as well vanilla swsusp and S3). You might wish to coordinate with him also some set of dependencies/recommendations. > http://people.debian.org/~madduck/packages/stage/kernel-patch-swsusp2 > > sometime today. Not yet :) Which version are you intending to package to start with? IMHO (from hearing many other people's opinion too), the most stable combination for 2.6.10+ is probably 2.1.5.15 (with an extra patch for SMP). Since 2.6.9 there have been ACPI issues that have affected a lot of people's ability to resume (particularly those with Toshiba laptops) - it's a work-in-progress to track these down. I've also got a bunch of scripts for /etc/mkinitrd/scripts/ that automagically create a suitable initrd for modular software suspend support (they'd need some cleanups for wider use though).
