Hi,
    I just dist-upgrade my Sid and a problem occurs with snort. It
    refused to start, according to a :

    "Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server;
    consider upgrading MySQL client"

    Error. I ldd the snort binary and see that it's linked against
    libmysqlclient12. Note : I have mysql-server in version 4.1.7-2.
    I downloaded the source package and change debian/control to
    explicitely need libmysqlclient14-dev in place of
    libmysqlclient-dev.
    I recompiled, and then it worked perfectly.

Cheers,

Aurelien
