In my case, I have (after removing perl.*):

cgi.load
dav.conf
dav.load
dav_fs.conf
dav_fs.load
dav_svn.conf
dav_svn.load
userdir.conf
userdir.load
xmlrpc.conf
xmlrpc.load

When perl.* is there, then this is ruby (used by xmlrpc) that crashes.
With perl.* and without xmlrpc.*, I still get the crash (in mod_perl
this time). So, perhaps you're right, this may be a library conflict.
