Package: getmail4 Version: 4.24.0-1 Severity: normal When trying to run the getmails helper script it fails with the message '/usr/bin/getmails: line 4: UID: readonly variable'.
On my system /bin/sh is a symlink to /bin/bash and so $UID cannot be redefined. If line 4 is commented out the rest of the script seems to run correctly. --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 Debian Release: wheezy/sid 990 unstable http.us.debian.org 990 unstable ftp.uk.debian.org 990 unstable debian-multimedia.fx-services.com 101 experimental mozilla.debian.net 101 experimental ftp.uk.debian.org 100 experimental-snapshots qt-kde.debian.net --- Package information. --- Depends (Version) | Installed ===========================-+-============== python2.7 | 2.7.3~rc2-1 OR python2.6 | 2.6.7-4 python (>= 2.6.6-7~) | 2.7.2-10 python (<< 2.8) | 2.7.2-10 Package's Recommends field is empty.
