Instead, what upstream > does (and that suffices, to me -- if it doesn't for you, you should file a > bug to http://josm.openstreetmap.de/ ), is to put relevant news in the "JOSM > startup page". There you see major differences introduced, with the > corresponding SVN revision. No it does. See for instance http://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Changelog that would/should have sufficed for me. Although do agree the point about svn log. I don't know whether you know of News.gz which could also be used in place of changelog.gz but could be used for the same thing. In either way it would be a nice to have feature. The pain point would be importing and cleaning the whole thing from circa 2005 as per trac suggests :- http://josm.openstreetmap.de/browser/josm/?rev=1 or the initial release from Debian unstable/sid (from the Debian changelog) :- josm (0.0.0.20080316-1) unstable; urgency=low * Initial release (Closes: #385371) -- Petter Reinholdtsen <p...@debian.org> Sun, 16 Mar 2008 14:57:52 +0100 I do understand that there would be a substantial time investment without any immediate payoffs for sure. What is interesting is somebody told them on the mailing list just a few months ago, see the history of the page :- http://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Changelog?action=history Hence sadly not much of a history you can get from there. > Kindly, > David > > -- > .
