Package: bzip2 Version: 1.0.2-2 Severity: normal If a named file on the commandline happens to be a fifo, bzip2 will hang indefinitely trying to open it. (Possibly this only happens if the fifo is unattached). Of course, it's a silly idea to try to include such an object for compression, but they occasionally get caught when you're doing something like 'bzip2 *'.
Hardly a showstopper. Probably the type of file should be checked, and rejected if it's an abnormal kind of object. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.9-1-386 Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages bzip2 depends on: ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.2-2 high-quality block-sorting file co ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-19 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
