If I keep the "created" metadata for weekly and monthly rotations, then
these sets will be rotated in a different date as the current rotate_long
priorizes it over the "rotated" metadata.

I think it's better to leave this issue outside the 1.0 release as the
current behavior is not a bug.

From the list above, the lockfile/pipefail is the most important fix.
Other are more cosmetic like you say :)
